Working Party 11th March

Working Party 11th March 8.30am. Meet at Riverside Drive.
Main task to prune overhanging/dead tree at peg 27. Hopefully to install one platform plus some pruning on one peg at nearest end of Sea Cadet section. Anyone with waders particularly welcome!

Working Party

Working Party Pockeridge top lake 22nd April.
The main objectives will be to do some major pruning around some of the existing swims and also create 3 new swims, including 2 near the island plus do some litter picking. If we have enough time time and manpower we will litter pick the lower lake.
All members are very welcome to attend

There will be a working party at the Sea Cadet section on Saturday 21st January starting at 830am to tidy up swims. Any member wishing to join will by very welcome. We will be meeting at the Riverside Drive end.

Working Party 21st Jan

The working party cleared 7 swims on Saturday in the Sea Cadet section including putting in steps, cutting back trees and bushes and clearing/repairing platforms. Many thanks to those who attended, especially Warren, one of our members.Please see the Gallery for some photos

The working party on the 18th Feb installed 5 new aluminium platforms to replace old rotten wooden ones plus 2 pallets to ease access to 2 other platforms that have become difficult to access because of changes to the river flow plus cutting out some steps on some of the pegs.

Sea Cadet section catches

A couple of weeks ago a brown trout at 4lb 2oz along with 10 chub up to 4lb 8oz caught in one session!Might even have been this peg but maybe not.

Barbel at Kellaways!

Several barbel have been caught at Kellaways in the last few weeks up to 3lb 8oz and because the landowner has cut down the trees in the first field more swims are now fishable

The lake will be closed on Saturday 27th May until 3pm for a match

Working Party Pockeridge lower lake

Successful Pockeridge Lake working party
Yesterdays working party cleared several swims of reeds and pruned overhanging trees all the way round the lower lake plus strimmed paths. A fallen tree was also removed from the top lake with some difficulty!

Day Tickets

A reminder that Day Tickets are available on all our 3 lakes at Pockeridge and Bromham during the river close season.

Visit our website Chippenhamanglingclub.com or local tackle shops for details and to purchase. All are fishing well at the moment. A couple of pics of fish from Pockeridge top lake below.

In addition to normal club rules the following, dictated by the terms of lease, also apply:-

Pockeridge,both lakes

FISHING between the hours of sunrise to sunset. NO NIGHT FISHING.

MAXIMUM OF TWO RODS ONLY

Children under 12 to be supervised by an adult at all times and be fishing the same swim.

BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY, SIZE 10 OR SMALLER.

LEAD FREE weights only.

NO SURFACE FISHING, FLOATING BAITS OR FLOATING LOOSE FEED.

NO TINS OR GLASS BOTTLES are to be carried.

NO LINE TO BE IN EXCESS OF 10LB BREAKING STRAIN

No Braided line, Hooklenghs or similar material to be used.

Permitted Baits Only. Maggots, Casters, Worms, Sweetcorn, Luncheon meat, Hemp, Tares, Prawns,

Bread (hook bait only and must be sinking)

Pellets and Paste (paste as a hook bait only) can be used only from the 1st of April till the 30th of September.

NO PELLETS OR PASTE BETWEEN 1ST OF OCTOBER & MARCH THE 31ST

KEEPNETS may be used for silver fish only, NO CARP to be retained, unless in AUTHORISED MATCHES where Carp and Silvers to be in separate nets. All match anglers must lay out their nets when arriving at their peg even if it is raining. Nets can be placed in the water 10 minutes before the match begins.

Burbrook Lake - Bromham

1 Fishing from platforms provided only, between the hours of sunrise and one hour after sunset.

2 No night fishing.

3 A maximum of two rods only to be used in each swim.

4 Seperate Keep Nets to be used when retaining Carp.

5 No boilies, no nuts.

6 No tins or glass bottles are to be carried.

7 No Braided lines (including hook lengths and Lead Core) to be used.

8 No Line to be in excess of 10lb breaking strain to be used.

9 Barbless hooks only.

Meet Great People

Working Party 10th June

Pre River Season Working Party Saturday 10th June.

The next working party will be meeting at Riverside Drive at 9am next Saturday 10th June. The objective will be to strim/tidy/prune from Riverside Drive up to the Golf Course and possibly into Monkton Park. Any help will be much appreciated.
